"Humour runs riot in this delightful exploration of the music, history and other-worldly quirks of England's second largest county."

Witham 'n' Blues is Mike Murphy's debut novel. A collision of the oddness of Lincolnshire and the richness of popular music history, drenched in wordplay - and vegetable references.

Witham 'n' Blues was published 26 March 2024 by Cranthorpe Millner Publishers.

Meet Mike

Mike Murphy has lived in Lincoln for half a century. He worked in secondary schools and latterly in the School of Design at the University of Lincoln. He also spent half a semester in a high school in South Carolina. Before all that, he lived in another fine Cathedral City, York, though like John Ruskin, he thinks that Lincoln is the finest of all English cathedrals. When not listening to his extensive vinyl music collection, Mike can be found reading the works of Christopher Brookmyre, Jonathan Coe, Carl Hiaasen, Elmore Leonard, David Lodge, Spike Milligan and David Nobbs. He also plays tennis (sort of...) and tends his allotment garden.
